Re: HELP! My hedgehog is showing pink skin
isolate from the rest immediatly!!!!
check for mites... (If you find them) I'd go with a frontline drop on the back of the head and not spray... use a dosage for kittens...
The pink skin is due to the hedgie losing its barbs, in which case in 90% of the time, is due to calcium deficiency.
I'd go for 30 mealworms a day to get the hedgie right.
Here's what I'd do but without seeing the hedgie I cannot really say. If it is still active and eats like a little pig...
1) Shower in warm water in the morning and sun till dry (1/2hour).
2) de parastise with frontline drops.
3) feed mealworms with calcium powder till it does not want to eat anymore.
4) maintain the mealworm diet until you see improvements... pre gutload mealworms with high protein puppy/kitten kibbles.
5) Sun for an hour everyday in the morning. (I can write 10 pages on why you should do this so let's save it for another thread)
