 Hurt?
my gtp was feeding well before. and now he seem to put off eating. i watched closely this time around, and i noticed that it tried to strike the prey. but could not complete the kill. did my ferocious gtp hurt his jaw? or no strenght due to not eating for 2months now? not sure wat's wrong...any ideas?

 Re: Hurt?
try kill your food , 2 months for a juvi is very long without food. try prekill the prey and taunt.
Hows the snake bowel movement?

 Re: Hurt?
Maybe can check the husbandry or the snake itself. For me I'm using water base instead of news paper , it keeps the humidity up , with branches which suspend te snake . My gtp often swims around in it's enclosure.

 Re: Hurt?
ok, now what do i do?
my gtp still refuse to eat the prekills offered to it. i tried rats (which is his normal eating size) and mice. both prekilled. both offered at intervals of a week. the gtp would strike at the prey. but would not eat.
what next?

 Re: Hurt?
damn! this is the one thing i HATE about keeping snakes. the unnecessary stress when it refuses to eat!
anyway, thanks for the advice. i tried everything, but gtp refuse to eat for about 2months+++!!!
thank god, he finally took a mice today. not his usual fat rat, but a small adult mice. should i take advantage of this and throw in a fat adult rat?? or feed him more mice???
what do all the sifus out there think????

 Re: Hurt?
think you should feed smth that'll go down easier , less stress on the snake than giving it a big food item. just my 2cents
